Official Rules and Regulations:
- Boats must be made ONLY of cardboard and duct tape.
- Corrugated cardboard, cardboard rolls and tubes, and waxed cardboard boxes are all legal.
- The amount of duct tape is unlimited, but all duct tape must be taped directly to cardboard.
- Cardboard cannot be secured with any paint or sealants.
- Paint and varnish are intended to be used for decorative purposes only, and must be cured prior to the race.
- Three fleets of vessels will be considered legal:
- Minnow: holding 1 crew member
- Perch: holding 2-3 crew members
- Carp: 4+ crew members
- The race must begin and end with the same crew intact, with both vessel and crew starting and finishing on the shoreline. Crew must remain in vessel for the duration of the race. Vessels propelled by swimmers will not be judged.
- ONE designated launcher may assist with any vessel, but may not advance past knee-high water
- The race will be judged according to the following categories:
- Most Creative
- Creative use of cardboard/duct tape
- Originality
- Application of theme
- Use of costumes- Costumes are strongly encouraged!
- Enthusiasm/Showmanship
- Fastest time (per Youth Category and per Adult Category)
- Titanic: Most epic failure
- Failure to Launch
- Most Creative

When you register, you decide how much to donate to the sailing school
for the group of family / friends that you are bringing.

When you register, you decide how much to donate to the sailing school
for the group of family / friends that you are bringing.
General Details:
- There will be 🎶 LIVE MUSIC 🎵 either on the stage or on the patio - weather dependent.
- Tables will be set up and it is up to each group to decide whether they would like to set up on a picnic blanket on the lawn,
- or at one of the tables.
- There will be a contest for your group's picnic presentation:
- most elegant
- most creative
- funniest
- There will be a dessert sharing table where you can place desserts and taste other's desserts.
- The bar will be open for soda, beer, and wine.
- Please bring everything you will need for your dinner. There will not be kitchen staff or use of the club's dishes other than your mug.
What to wear:
- Whites, creams, khakis & other neutral tones.
- Things you may want to bring:
- Neighbors, friends, members & non members
- A table cloth to match your group's theme
- A picnic blanket to match your group's theme
- Silverware (plastic, everyday, or . . . silver)
- Plates (plastic, everyday or . . . china)
- Napkins (paper or cloth)
- Glasses (plastic, or perhaps stemware)
- Various finger foods / dishes for your group to eat at your setting. (This is not a pitch in, so you will be eating whatever you bring to your own picnic; however, it might be fun to get together with a few people and plan your picnic together!)
- Specialty drinks / wines
- A special basket or creative container to transport your picnic.
- Fixings for smore's if the weather permits a fire in our club fire pit.
- Extra servings of dessert to place on the dessert sharing table.
