Our goal is to reach 100% participation in the form of cash contributions and pledges by the end of October 2022!
As of Sept. 19, 45% of our 212 members have pledged or contributed. For more details, see the New Building page. All Flying Scots (those on moorings, in a dry sail spot, and on lifts) and all Lasers need to be removed from the club property by the end of the day Friday September 23 to provide space for dock storage and member parking for the day.
This is specifically important due to space needed to prepare for the clubhouse rebuild project. Lost and Found
Please look at the dishware, clothing, PFDs, keys, and many other assorted found items and take them home before they are donated. Mugs & Name Tags Please take your mugs and name tags home where they will be safest until the new building is completed. Liquor & Sail Lockers It is time to empty your lockers completely. If you have the liquor locker key and can leave it inside the locker, it will be most helpful as the lockers are stored and relocated into the new building. More details for clearing out the building prior to demolition will be appearing soon. ⛵ Updated again, 8/2/22 -- assignments have been revised.
-- An email was sent with 2022 assignments for FS moorings, drysail, and lifts. The file is also here on the website. Click here to go to the file. It has been an wonderful sailing season at Deep Creek Lake! I hope everyone has been able to get out on the water and enjoy! There have been some updates to the assignments for Flying Scot moorings, lifts, and drysail spots. It is exciting to have some new boats join the fleet and there are some boats that have moved to a lift. Attached is the current picture for what boat lives where. If this chart does not reflect actually where your boat sleeps, please let me know! And if you have any requests for changes in the future, please send me an email before the end of the season. There is increased wave action on the lake so keeping an eye on your boat is important. Please remember to regularly check that your Flying Scot does not have much water in the bilge, your plug is secure, your cover is firmly attached, and your mooring line hooks are secure and the line intact.. Also please note that the "dinghy' has damage to the stern bumper and the engine cover. Please, when using the dinghy, do not approach the dock in reverse (stern toward dock). Additionally, when securing the boat to dock at the end of use, please make sure it is not going to hit any other boats especially if there is wave action. Hope to see you out sailing! Joni Palmer Updated Pet Guidance
Based on feedback from the membership, your Board of Governors has updated our pet policy (Operating Procedures section 1.8) to allow pets on the lower wooden deck. This will allow our pet owner members to enjoy the club more fully. Pets are not allowed on the upper deck or in the pavilion. Please note that none of the other requirements of this policy have changed including keeping your pet on a leash and under control and cleaning up after your pet. The full text of the new policy is below. New policy: 1.8 Pets Pets are permitted only on grassy area, hardscape, docks and the lower deck outdoors. Pets on Association grounds must be kept on leash at all times. Owners must assume full responsibility for care, control of and cleaning up after their pets. June 13, 2022
