Please remember to ALWAYS bus your own dishes & glassware and clean up trash, especially at the end of the night. We have had too many instances of glasses left on tables, around the bar, and even outside on the downstairs patio. We do not want to risk broken glass around our clubhouse. If the dirty dish bin is full, please inform our staff or bring the bin to the dishwasher and move one of the spare bins up from the bottom of the dish cart. If the cart is not available, simply place items on the counters outside the kitchen. Our goal should be to leave our do-it-yourself club cleaner than we found it! If you wish to dine at Friday Grills and Saturday social events, you are required to sign up in advance, in order to ensure that there is enough food for everyone.
Be sure to check in at the registration table upon arrival. You will not be served if you don’t have a confirmed signup. All members are welcome to stop in at the club after dinner to socialize and enjoy any entertainment. Sailing Participation T-shirts

Please help us follow proper procedures governing when children under the age of 21 years may be in the Mug Room. Under Operating Procedure 1.3, children under the age of 21 are only permitted to be in the Mug Room for two purposes and must at all times be accompanied by an adult. Those two purposes are: (1) to pass through or (2) to enter to obtain a soft drink. Under no circumstances may children under the age of 21 congregate in or go behind the bar of the Mug Room. Attendance has been great at all of our recent clubhouse events. We are making adjustments to our staffing to better accommodate everyone. Although everyone is eager to share our new facilities with family and friends, please keep in mind Article 4, Item 4.3 of our Operating Procedures which states:
“Guest privileges for any individual guests are limited to a maximum of four days per year. Guests include children of a Membership 26 years of age or older and not a full-time student”. Also: “Guests must be in the company of a Membership who will assume full responsibility for their conduct and expenditures.” Item 4.2 extends privileges to anyone participating in the DCYRA racing program, whether a member of DCLSA or not, for the following: skipper’s meetings, award ceremonies, official fleet meetings, protest hearings, restrooms, and docking between races. If your guests and children enjoy their visits and are interested in sailing or learning to sail and supporting our sailing program, please encourage them to consider applying to join the club! Help keep our beer taps clean and sanitary!
Never immerse the tap spigot in beer. When you pour a beer at the taps:
Thank you -- we know this is 'un-learning' for many people, but it will help because we won't have to clean the taps as frequently, and the beer will taste better! If you have any questions, Kerry Diehl will be happy to answer. Our new building is familiar but not identical.
Are you wondering where to put your name tag? Need to get in touch with the Managers? Do we still bus our own tables? What if I have a complaint? Judy Wetzel has put together a list of Notes From the House to answer these and many other questions. |
